Port Dickson Hanuman Temple, Negeri Sembilan

About the temple
Sri Anjeneyar Temple (PD Hanuman temple) is famous for the Hanuman deity who is said to have turned and faced the sea. This Hanuman idol though installed straight has somehow turned to the side (it is believed that he is facing towards Rameswaram). There were many versions of stories that supported this event, some said that during the early days, meat was offered in the temple and as a sign of not accepting the offering, the statue began to respond to such activities by turning itself to face the sea. Another version says that, due to the immerse friendship of lord Hanuman towards Lord Shri Raam, the idol with the presence of Hanuman had miraculously turn itself to the direction of Rameswaram, as a sign of proof that existence Hanuman is beyond doubt.

In the year 1954, a shrine was believed to be constructed by members of the Army from the PD Army battalion. At one time, a foreign photographer had earlier taken photos of the shrine, and went again to the shrine to take additional photos. He was stunned at the change of Lord Anjaneyar’s head and immediately informed the local dailies.
